Warm baked apples filled with raisins and walnuts, then sweetened with Northern Reach Maple Cinnamon Infused Maple Syrup.
Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 35–45 minutes
Ingredients
- 4 medium baking apples, such as Honeycrisp, Cortland, or Granny Smith
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup Northern Reach Maple Cinnamon Infused Maple Syrup, divided
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Core each apple, leaving the bottom intact so the filling stays inside. Place the apples upright in a small baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine the walnuts, raisins, butter, optional ground cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of Northern Reach Maple Cinnamon Infused Maple Syrup.
- Pack the walnut and raisin mixture firmly into the center of each apple.
- Drizzle the remaining maple syrup over the tops of the apples and filling.
- Pour the water into the bottom of the baking dish. Cover loosely with foil.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and continue baking for another 10–20 minutes, until the apples are tender but still hold their shape.
- Spoon some of the warm maple juices from the baking dish over each apple before serving.
Serve warm on its own, or with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a spoonful of Greek yogurt.
Tip: For an extra maple finish, drizzle a little additional Northern Reach Maple Cinnamon Infused Maple Syrup over the apples just before serving.
